LogoManga Colorizer

A small studio turning black-and-white manga into readable color chapters.

We're a team of developers, manga readers, and scanlation helpers focused on one problem: making AI manga coloring and translation actually look like manga — clean line art, sharp screentones, full-color pages you can share with your reading group.

The Studio Behind Manga Colorizer

Manga Colorizer is an independent product studio run by a small, dedicated team. We're not a big platform chasing AI hype cycles. We're manga fans and engineers who got tired of generic AI image tools smudging line art, blurring screentones, and treating a manga page like a stock photo. As a small team we stay close to our users — manga fans chasing raw chapters, scanlation volunteers shipping weekly releases, and indie creators localizing their own work into new markets. That short feedback loop is how features like chapter-level style locks, SFX-aware translation, and 2K / 4K export got on the roadmap.

Our Mission

Our mission is to make colorized, translated manga available to every reader, not just the chapters that get an official release. Modern AI image models are powerful, but out of the box they blur panels, invent weird colors, and drop speech bubbles — useless for real manga workflows. Manga Colorizer exists to close that gap. We tune image models on real manga line art, panel layouts, and screentones, then pair them with a context-aware translator that rebuilds speech bubbles, narration boxes, and sound effects in 15+ languages. The goal is simple: a reader in São Paulo, a scanlation editor in Ankara, and an indie artist in Taipei should all be able to take a raw chapter and end up with a full-color, localized edition in minutes, not months.

What We Build

We design focused, AI-powered tools for one medium — manga — so readers, indie creators, and scanlation teams can go from raw, black-and-white pages to colored, translated chapters without stitching five different tools together.

Manga-Aware AI Coloring

Our core tool colorizes black-and-white manga pages while preserving line art, panel borders, and screentones. Style presets lock palettes across an entire chapter so characters and key props stay on-color from page one to the finale, with exports at 2K or 4K for tablets, large displays, and print spreads.

15+ Language Manga Translation

We ship a manga-trained translator that detects speech bubbles, narration boxes, annotations, and hand-drawn SFX, then rewrites them in 15+ languages including Japanese, Korean, Chinese, English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Arabic, and Turkish — without covering the underlying artwork.

Chapter Reader And Private Sharing

Beyond single images, we build tools for whole-chapter workflows: compile colored pages into a reader, share a private link with your book club or beta readers, and download full-resolution files when you need them. Less file juggling, more actual reading.

How We Work

We are a small, independent team focused on building useful, honest software for manga. Our process is simple: read what users actually upload, ship improvements weekly, and prioritize manga fidelity over AI novelty.

Built For Manga, Not Stock Photos

We tune our image pipeline on real manga pages — line art, panel borders, screentones, vertical Japanese text — instead of portrait photos or landscape scenes. If a change would make colorization look better on a landscape photo but worse on a manga panel, we reject it.

Ship Whole Chapters, Not Demos

Features exist to move a reader from a raw scan to a shareable, colored, translated chapter. We build for batch uploads, chapter-level style locks, shared reader links, and downloadable full-resolution output because that's what real manga workflows look like.

Keep The Original Art Intact

Translated text goes inside the original speech bubbles; colorization never repaints character line art; screentones are preserved. We treat the original mangaka's linework as sacred and only add what the user explicitly asked for — color, translation, or both.

Respect Your Time, Scans, And Drafts

We don't train our models on your uploads, we keep private chapter links actually private, and we don't lock drafts behind aggressive upsells. Credits are transparent, usage is visible, and you can download raw files any time.

Who We Build For

We build for manga fans reading untranslated raws, indie creators shipping their own chapters, and scanlation teams that need a first-pass coloring and translation pipeline without hiring a full production crew.

Manga Fans Reading Raw Releases

You follow a series that dropped in Japan weeks before the official localization — or may never get one. You drop raw chapters into Manga Colorizer, pick your language, and read a translated (and optionally colored) version inside the built-in reader.

Indie Creators And Doujin Artists

You self-publish a manga and want to ship both a black-and-white edition and a full-color, multi-language one without hiring a coloring studio or a translator per market. Our tools let you prototype color and localized editions in an afternoon, not a month.

Scanlation And Localization Teams

You're a small scanlation crew that translates, cleans, and typesets every page by hand. Manga Colorizer handles base coloring and a first-pass translation with typesetting applied, so your editors can focus on tone, cultural fixes, and SFX polish instead of starting each chapter from a blank template.

Our Story

Manga Colorizer started as a side project born from a specific frustration. One of us was trying to colorize a favorite black-and-white chapter with a generic AI image tool. The output smudged the line art, blurred the screentones, and painted weirdly uniform colors across panels that were supposed to feel different. The author's work got worse, not better. So we built a small prototype that fed manga pages through an image model tuned on real line art and panel layouts, with separate passes for coloring and for speech bubbles. The first test — a single doujin page — came back with crisp panel borders, intact screentones, and flat color in the right places. It finally looked like manga, not like a colorized photograph. That prototype grew into Manga Colorizer. Early users were scanlation volunteers and indie creators who told us what was missing: chapter-level color consistency, translation that didn't cover artwork, support for manhwa and manhua, and one tool that did coloring and translation in the same pass. We built what they asked for, step by step, and we're still doing that today.

2024

First prototype built to solve the 'generic AI ruins manga line art' problem. Focus on panel-aware coloring from day one.

Early 2025

Launched the first public version of Manga Colorizer with style presets, 2K output, and a built-in chapter reader.

Mid 2025

Shipped the AI manga translator in 15+ languages, with speech-bubble, narration, and SFX detection — and toggle-in-one-click integration with coloring.

Today

Continuously improving manga-tuned models, chapter-level style locks, multilingual typesetting, and private reader sharing for scanlation teams and indie creators.

How We Think About Trust & Privacy

We believe manga tools require a foundation of trust. Our business model is simple: we sell a software service that turns raw chapters into readable color editions. We are not in the business of scraping your uploads, selling reading habits, or retraining models on fan translations. Our commitment is to a clear, honest service that respects both readers and original creators.

Transparent Pricing

Plans are based on usage with clear credit costs per page for coloring and translation. No hidden fees, no long-term contracts, no surprise charges. Upgrade, downgrade, or cancel any time.

Your Scans Stay Yours

We do not train AI models on your uploaded manga pages, colored outputs, or translated chapters. Your uploads remain your data; outputs are exportable and deletable on demand.

No Dark Patterns

We don't run fake scarcity timers, hide the 'cancel' button, or push upsells inside the reader. Our goal is that you use Manga Colorizer because it works on your chapters, not because we trapped you in a funnel.

Respect For Original Creators

Manga Colorizer is a tool, not a publisher. We do not host unauthorized manga libraries, and we encourage users to support official releases and original mangaka wherever licensed editions exist.
